FAQ

What is customs clearance?

Customs clearance is an administrative procedure during which goods crossing a customs border are declared to customs authorities for the purpose of calculating and collecting customs duties and taxes. This process also includes verifying that imported or exported goods comply with applicable laws and regulations, including restrictions and prohibitions.

The main customs procedures include: Release for free circulation (import) Export Transit Customs warehousing Inward and outward processing Temporary admission Processing under customs control End-use procedure

The transit procedure is used when goods move between two points in the customs territory without the need to pay duties and other charges. It is particularly useful in situations such as: Transporting non-EU goods through EU territory Moving EU goods through the territory of a third country Transporting goods to a destination or customs warehouse Transporting goods subject to excise duty

For customs clearance, the following documents are typically required: Commercial invoice Transport document (e.g., CMR, Bill of Lading, Air Waybill) Certificate of origin (if required) Goods specification HS code of the goods Additional documents specific to the type of goods (e.g., quality certificates, attestations, phytosanitary certificates)

The Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status is a certificate issued by customs authorities, confirming the reliability and security of a company in the international supply chain. AEO certificate holders benefit from simplified customs procedures, fewer physical and documentary controls, and priority service from customs authorities.

GMR (Goods Movement Reference) is a unique reference number used in the UK customs system after Brexit. It is required for all shipments moving between the EU and the UK. The GMR number links customs declarations, safety and security documents, and transport information into a single record, enabling smooth border crossing.

The process of establishing cooperation is simple and transparent. It begins with a telephone or email contact with our office. Then our consultant conducts an interview regarding your clearance needs. Based on this, we prepare an individual offer.

The time required for customs clearance depends on many factors, including the type of goods, country of origin/destination, and completeness of documentation. For standard shipments with complete documentation, we are able to complete clearances typically within 1 hour.

Daily cooperation is based on efficient electronic and telephone communication. Each client has a dedicated account manager available during business hours. Documents can be sent by email or through system integration. You receive regular reports of completed clearances and notifications about the status of your orders.

Yes, we offer the possibility of integrating our IT systems with the systems used by clients. We have API interfaces enabling direct data exchange with popular ERP systems.
