The modern automotive world is not just about personal cars, but a whole range of vehicles – from small private cars, through trucks, to trailers, forklifts, and low-speed vehicles. Regardless of whether you are an individual, running a business, or managing a fleet of vehicles in a transport company – appropriate insurance coverage is the foundation for the safe and responsible use of any means of transport.

SKAT POLISA is an experienced multi-agency specialising in comprehensive service for the TSL sector and beyond – for years we have been offering our Clients expert advice, support, and the best insurance solutions available on the market.

What are motor insurance policies?

Motor insurance policies are a set of policies that protect the vehicle owner, passengers, and third parties against the consequences of road incidents, collisions, breakdowns, or theft. The most popular types of motor insurance include:

  • Third-party Liability Insurance (OC) – the only mandatory insurance for every vehicle owner. It protects against the financial consequences of damages caused to third parties.

  • Comprehensive Insurance (AC) – voluntary insurance that protects the owner's vehicle against damage, destruction, or theft.

  • Accident Insurance (NNW) – provides benefits in case of permanent health impairment of the driver or passengers.

  • Assistance – breakdown and organisational assistance in the case of a malfunction, accident, or immobilisation of the vehicle, even abroad.

  • Insurance for glass, tyres, and other components – additional protection for the parts of the vehicle that are most susceptible to damage.

Importantly, the obligation to have Third-party Liability Insurance (OC) also applies to such vehicles as:

  • trailers and semi-trailers,

  • low-speed vehicles (e.g., construction machinery),

  • forklifts,

  • and other mechanical vehicles used in companies.
