Yesterday (2018-06-05), at a gala event held in Zakopane to celebrate World Natural Environment Protection Day, as part of the 2nd EKOZAKOPANE International Power Engineering and Environmental Forum, the winners were announced for the “EKOJANOSIK – Zielona Wstęga Polski” National Environmental Award.

We are extremely proud that in the Pomorskie Voivodeship transport and mass transit company category, the honour of receiving the award went to our company – SKAT Transport.

The voting is organised by the National Environmental Council in collaboration with the Association of International Road Transport Companies. The EKOJANOSIK award is given to companies that conduct operations in a way that significantly improves the condition of the natural environment and, for the transport company category, which also own the most environmentally-friendly vehicle fleet in the region.

Our transport operations policy includes an important element limiting the effects of adverse environmental impacts. For this reason, we have for many years invested in driver education (ecodriving), monitored the fuel consumption of every vehicle we use, recorded the CO2 emission data of our fleer (and published them officially), and of course invested in the most fuel-efficient and low-emission engines. Currently, SKAT Transport fleet is equipped exclusively with EURO6 tractor units, and we maintain an average vehicle age of about 1.5 years. The company has also implemented an ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System.
